WCBS-FM CONTEST RULES

Generic Rules for WCBS-FM

No purchase necessary to enter or win.  A purchase will not increase your chance of winning.  Void where prohibited.

WCBS-FM (sometimes referred to as "Station") may change the dates and/or terms of the contest or promotion (the “Contest”) without prior notice.  Any material changes will be broadcast on the Station and/or posted on its website located at www.wcbsfm.com.  Unless otherwise specified in Contest rules other station instructions, these general rules will apply to all Station Contests.
To participate in a contest, contestants need to listen to WCBS-FM 101.1 for the cue to either call the WCBS-FM contest lines at 800-367-1101 or text WCBS-FM at 4-1-0-1-1.  To participate in WCBS-FM 101.1 online contests, contestants need to log onto wcbsfm dot com (wcbsfm.com) and click the appropriate link.

The Station is not responsible for telephone  or cellular service outages, delays, busy signals, equipment malfunctions and any other technological difficulties that may prevent an individual from completing his/her telephone call or text.  In the event of any type of disconnect or ineligibility, the next caller or text received will be taken.  The station is also not responsible for online contest entries not received due to difficulty accessing the internet, service outages or delays, computer difficulties or other technological glitches.

For on-air contests, there is no limit to the number of times a listener may attempt to call in or text, but a listener may only qualify and win once.

Unless otherwise specified, the Contest is open to all WCBS-FM listeners who are 18 years of age or older, who are legal U.S. residents and who reside in the New York City Metropolitan area.  Employees of WCBS-FM, its licensee, CBS Radio, its parent corporation, their affiliated entities, affiliated advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, other radio stations in the New York metropolitan area and the members of their immediate families/households are ineligible to participate or win.

Listeners are eligible to win a WCBS-FM contest only once every sixty days and a prize valued at $600 or more only once every six months.  Only one winner per household is permitted in any Contest.

Contestants are required to provide truthful information and WCBS-FM will reject and delete any entry it discovers to be false or fraudulent.

During some contests, contestants will have the opportunity to answer a question(s) or compete against other contestants.  For a contest that requires a question to be answered, if the contestant is incorrect the next caller will be taken until a winner is found.  For a contest that requires contestants to compete against each other, winners may be chosen via listener voting.  The contestant receiving the most votes will be selected as the winner.

The winner(s) will receive the prize(s) announced on-air or explained on the Station website.  All prizes or prize certificates may be picked up at the office of WCBS-FM, 40 West 57th Street New York, NY 10019.  Any prize or prize certificate not claimed within forty-five days of winning (or sooner for time sensitive prizes) will be forfeited by the winner.  In the event that a prize or prize certificate is mailed to the winner, it will be with the prior written consent of the winner and therefore, winner assumes the risk of its loss.  WCBS-FM is not responsible for the safe arrival of a prize or prize certificate.  There is no substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent for prizes, except that Sponsor may, at its sole discretion, substitute prizes of comparable value or cash.  The prizes are expressly limited to the item(s) listed above and do not include taxes, gratuities or any other expenses.  Other restrictions may apply.

Decisions of WCBS-FM management with respect to contests are final.

Payments of all federal, state and local taxes are solely the responsibility of the winner.  Winners may be required to sign an IRS Form W-9 or the equivalent.

By participating in the Contest, the winner or winners (and their guest or traveling companion, if any) agree to have their name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this Contest without additional financial or other compensation, and, where legal, to sign a publicity release confirming such consent prior to acceptance of the prize.

Prior to awarding any prize or prize certificate, the Station in its sole discretion may require contest winners (and their travel companions, if any) to sign a liability release, agreeing to hold the WCBS-FM, its corporate licensee, their parent, subsidiary and affiliated corporations, and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or participation in the contest.

WCBS-FM reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the Contest, including the substitution of a prize or prizes of equivalent value, which will become effective upon announcement.  If due to circumstances beyond the control of the Station, any competition or prize related event is delayed, rescheduled, postponed or cancelled, the Station reserves the right, but not the obligation, to cancel or modify the contest and shall not be required to award a substitute prize.

Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant's disqualification, at the sole discretion of WCBS-FM.

WCBS-FM is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the contest or in the announcement of a prize.

Copies of the written contest rules and a list of all winners (when complete) are available during regular business hours at the main studio of WCBS-FM, 345 Hudson Street, New York, NY 10014 or by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to WCBS-FM.
