Johnny Maestro & The Brooklyn Bridge and The Duprees
Saturday | Nov. 21st | 8pm
Tickets: $40-55
Paramount Theatre | 1008 Brown Street | Peekskill, NY 10566

Don’t miss a powerhouse evening of musical memories at the Paramount Center for the Arts as Johnny Maestro and The Brooklyn Bridge share the stage with The Duprees on Saturday, November 21st. As a front man for The Crests, Brooklyn’s own Johnny Maestro had his first big hit with “Sixteen Candles” Then teaming with The Brooklyn Bridge, he scored a top five hit and a gold record with “The Worst that Could Happen”. By 1972, the Brooklyn Bridge had sold over 10 million records and established Johnny Maestro as one of the premier vocal talents of the era. The Duprees are known the world over for their romantic interpretations of some of the most beautiful love songs ever written. Their New Jersey street-corner roots still audible in the doo wop harmonies, The Duprees became known for mixing doo-wop vocals with big band arrangements. They were very good at what they did, and successful, with : "You Belong to Me" making the Top Ten. The Duprees followed up this success with "My Own True Love”, "Have You Heard," and "Why Don't You Believe Me", all Top 40 hits.
