This week's Radio Great is:

Bobby Jay

CBS-FM Welcomes back a true Radio Great Bobby Jay this Sunday, August 24th from 7-10PM.

A  New York radio legend, Bobby Jay has been broadcasting in the tri-state area for over 40 years.

Raised in Harlem, Bobby Jay caught the show biz spirit at an early age and became a member of the singing group The Laddins in 1957.  The group began to flourish under the guidance of legendary dee-jay Alan Freed.  In 1962 Bobby left the group to enlist in the United States Army.  Upon his return, Bobby became a part of The Teenagers, the landmark group formed by Frankie Lymon.

In 1964 Bobby launched his radio career at WTHB in Augusta.  Bobby would then go on to WNJR in Newark then at WWRL in New York where he did double duty as an on-air personality and Program Director.  In 1986 Bobby Jay joined CBS-FM.  He would host The Top 20 Countdown, The Hall of Fame and the memorable Jukebox Saturday Night and The Soul of The City.

Always the performer, Bobby was a member of the original Off-Broadway cast of
"Leader of The Pack", which went on to a Broadway run.  In 1987 he hosted
FIRST CITY, a magazine-talk show on WNYC-TV for which he garnered a New York Emmy Award.

This week CBS-FM proudly welcomes back Radio Great  Bobby Jay!
